Total Item Description: The note and lithograph of Pierre Louys are framed and matted. The note is written in French and the English translation is: ” Dear Sir, It is I who regrets this unfortunate postal strike. Would you like to come to see me tomorrow, Thursday, around four o’clock? If you are not free would you make another appointment for next week either at your house or at mine. I pray you, dear sir, to believe in the sincerity of my feelings in regards to you.” (signed) Pierre Louys The condition is excellent and has an old typed translation of the French taped to the back. Quoted from Wikipedia “Pierre Louys was a French poet and Romantic writer most renowned for lesbian and classical themes. He is known as a writer who “expressed pagan sensuality with stylistic perfection”.
